Cruise Line Job Types List Types of Employment

Entertainment Department

If you enjoy performing to an audience and have an outgoing personality with a love to interact with others this could be the dream department for you. Can you make people listen, laugh or clap their hands to your music? If so the cruise liner companies want to hear from you. Below are just examples of jobs within this department:-

Cruise Staff (Salary $1500-$2200 US dollars per month)
Responsible for general activities to entertain the clients, e.g. treasure hunts, bingo games etc. Previous experience within a similar position is desirable but not essential. Happy outgoing personality is a must along with fluent English.

Dancers and Singers (Salary $1600-$3000 US dollars per month)
You would be expected to take part in the onboard shows and cabarets. These positions require high energy and an outgoing personality. Previous experience in similar environment is essential. No language barriers for these positions.

Lounge Entertainers (Salary $2500-$5000 US dollars per month)
Responsible for entertaining the clients onboard at various locations and times on the vessel. Proven past experience within similar field of entertainment. Employers will generally request a sample routine before being hired. Good English is essential for this position as being in direct contact with paying guests.

Musician (Salary $1500-$2500 US dollars per month)
Responsible for entertaining the clients onboard. You would be expected to be a professional musician and have and session which could last at least 45 minutes. Good English is essential for this position as you will be in direct contact with paying guests.

Disc Jockey (Salary $1800-$2200 US dollars per month)
Able to entertain a cross section of the passengers with various types of music. Previous experience required within a similar role is essential along with good English skills.
